The Object Management Group™ (OMG) certifies Finantix as a qualified Service Provider of the MDA FastStart Program™

Venice, Italy, 11th June 2004

Finantix, the leading European company specialising in component-based, client-centric and process-led software solutions for retail, private and corporate banking, announced today that the Object Management Group™ (OMG) has recently accredited Finantix as a qualified Service Provider of the MDA FastStart™ Program. OMG is the non-profit industry consortium responsible for developing and maintaining distributed computing specifications and standards for interoperable enterprise applications.

Finantix isthe first European software company fully dedicated to the banking and financial services industry to partner with OMGas an approved Qualified Service Provider of the MDA FastStart™ Program.

MDA FastStart™ is a special program designed and managed by OMG to help information technology organisations become familiar with Model Driven Architecture (MDA) concepts and rapidly apply MDA to their mission-critical software development activities. OMG works closely with a selected set of OMG member Qualified Service Providers (QSPs) to implement MDA FastStart, which includes an integrated set of assessment, planning, executive seminars and technical practicum suitable for both IT executives and their technical staff.

MDA is a fast growing technological standard that serves as a pillar of process- and service-oriented, component-based architectures ensuring platform interoperability and independency, component reusability, increased customisation capability, solution scalability, cost control and reduction, and growing revenues. MDA makes it possibleto separate business logic from technical infrastructure, allowing business processes to be accommodated in accordance with evolving business strategies and reused through multiple channels without platforms or technological constraints.

"Financial institutions aiming for independence between functional design and technical architecture will find appropriate standards in MDA technology to synchronise the implementation of these two aspects and speed up the realisation of their business vision”, explains Maurizio Greco, Chief Architect, Finantix. “Finantix helps leverage MDA through existing products and qualified consulting, enablingcost reduction and improving time-to-market. Finantix technologies allow the implementation of robust solutions based on a Service Oriented Architecture concept and a Business Process Management approach."

With a steady track record in implementing Finantix Components and modules through Finantix Studio, a set of tools for Business Process Management compliant software, Finantix’s proven experience is now available, through the MDA FastStart™ Program, to business or technically skilled clientswho want to get to know MDA techniques.

Finantix delivers knowledge, reports and extensive documentation suited to the specific needs ofeach organisation. The program is detailed by a roadmap framed in phases and deliverables and comprises various levels using a theoretic or a practical approach to MDA.
